My three year old daughter has been saying "got" in lieu of "have" a lot lately. Perhaps I never noticed it, either it was cute enough or I wasn't listening closely or analyzing speech patterns. I imagined her grown up talkin' like that, and it started to grate on nerves. It shouldn't have.
Today, we came home from the store and were talking about plurals as we took off our boots and put away the groceries. As we climbed up to the counter for a snack, she exclaimed, "I have two feet, MaDaddy and ...we got groceries from the store."
